Creating a Quiz

  1. Go to your project’s Configure > Quiz tab
  2. Click Create Quiz (or edit an existing one)

A quiz consists of:

Displayed at the top of the quiz. Keep it clear and action-oriented:

  • Good: “Find the right resources for you”
  • Avoid: “Resource Finder Quiz Assessment Tool”

Each question has:

  • Question text — what the visitor sees
  • Answer options — clickable choices (buttons)
  • Tags — keywords attached to each answer option (used for matching)

What type of support are you looking for?

  • Housing assistance → tags: housing, shelter
  • Food & nutrition → tags: food, nutrition, pantry
  • Employment help → tags: jobs, employment, career
  • Legal services → tags: legal, attorney, rights
  1. Click Add Question
  2. Type the question text
  3. Add answer options — each option gets a label and one or more tags
  4. Repeat for additional questions
  • Keep it short — 3-5 questions max. More than that and visitors drop off
  • Use plain language — avoid jargon your audience might not know
  • Make options clear — each option should be distinct, not overlapping
  • Cover common needs — think about the top 5-6 reasons people visit your directory
  • Include a catch-all — add an option like “I’m not sure” or “Something else” that doesn’t filter too narrowly

If you provide an AI Context description in your project’s Overview tab, FieldFlow can generate a complete quiz structure for you. Describe your directory and audience, and the AI creates questions, options, and tags that match your data.

After creating your quiz:

  1. Toggle the quiz to Active in the quiz builder
  2. The quiz URL appears in the Publish tab
  3. Update your embed code to use mode: "quiz" or mode: "quiz+directory"

After creating questions, you need to connect the answer tags to your directory’s taxonomy terms.
