Tag Mapping
Tag mapping is the bridge between quiz answers and directory results. It tells FieldFlow which taxonomy terms correspond to which answer tags.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Each quiz answer option has tags (keywords you assigned when creating the quiz)
- Your directory has taxonomies with terms (categories you set up in Filters)
- Tag mapping connects tags → taxonomy terms
When a visitor picks an answer, FieldFlow collects the tags from their selections and finds the matching taxonomy terms to filter the directory.
Automatic AI mapping
Section titled “Automatic AI mapping”When you activate a quiz, FieldFlow’s AI automatically maps your answer tags to taxonomy terms. It reads:
- Your quiz questions and answer tags
- Your directory’s taxonomy terms
- The AI Context from your project’s Overview tab
The AI creates a mapping table. You can review and adjust it before going live.
Manual mapping
Section titled “Manual mapping”You can also create or edit mappings manually:
- Go to Configure > Quiz
- Open the Tag Mapping section
- For each answer tag, select which taxonomy term(s) it should map to
Example mapping
Section titled “Example mapping”| Answer Tag | Maps To |
|---|---|
housing | Service Type: Housing |
shelter | Service Type: Housing, Service Type: Emergency Shelter |
food | Service Type: Food Assistance |
greenville | County: Greenville |
How results are scored
Section titled “How results are scored”When a visitor completes the quiz:
- All their answer tags are collected
- Each tag is mapped to taxonomy terms
- Records matching those terms are shown, ranked by how many tags they match
- Records matching the most tags appear first
- Tags should be specific enough to differentiate but broad enough to match multiple records
- Use the AI mapping as a starting point, then review for accuracy
- Test the quiz yourself to make sure results feel relevant
- If results are too narrow, broaden your tag-to-term mappings
- If results are too broad, add more specific tags to your answer options
